Who we are

What the website collects

When you request a booking: your name, email, mobile number, nationality, stay dates, number of guests, preferred payment method and any notes you write.

When you enquire about a long stay, or list your flat with us as an owner: your name, how to reach you, and the details you write about your request or your flat.

The website doesn't store or send this itself: it prepares a WhatsApp message you can read in full, and nothing reaches us until you press send.

The site uses one cookie to remember your choices, such as currency. There are no ads or tracking tools.

WhatsApp and your stay

We talk to guests and owners on WhatsApp; those conversations are also processed by Meta under its own policy.

Egyptian law requires us to register every guest with the Tourism Police, so we ask for your passport or ID before arrival. We use it for that and share it with no one else.

Bookings made on platforms such as Airbnb and Booking.com reach us through our booking system, Beds24 (name, contact details and stay details). We use them to prepare the flat and look after your stay.

Our team app and WhatsApp bot

Our team uses an internal app, Shift Ops, and a WhatsApp bot to run cleaning and maintenance. It stores team members' names and phone numbers, the messages they send the bot, job photos, and a record of what was done on each job.

To understand and answer team messages, the bot sends the message text and the job details it needs to Claude, by Anthropic. Guest details are limited to what the job needs, such as a first name.

Who processes data with us

We use service providers who process data only on our behalf: Meta (WhatsApp), Vercel (hosting the website and app), Neon (database), Beds24 (booking management), Sanity (website content) and Anthropic (understanding team-bot messages). Some data may be stored outside Egypt by these providers.

We don't sell personal data or share it for advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep data for as long as the purpose it was collected for needs it, or as the law requires (for example tax records and guest registration), and then delete it.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Write to muhammad@shiftproperties.co or message us on WhatsApp and we'll reply within 30 days. You can also complain to Egypt's Personal Data Protection Center.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll publish the new version here with its date.
